Dos Palmas Island Resort and Spa takes the environment seriously. In our continuing quest to offer our guests a great island experience, we also fully commit ourselves to live harmoniously with our ecosystem. With this strong commitment comes our resolve to constantly find ecologically safe solutions that may one day set environmental standards for the industry.
Our ongoing green initiatives include an ecologically responsible waste management program and sewage treatment facility, a water-conservation and desalination program, and a toxic-material reduction plan that includes de-chlorination of water supply and the use of biodegradable, plant-based detergents and cleaning agents.

The eastern part of the island has been designated as the Dos Palmas Eco Zone (DPEZ), where all environmental programs and facilities of the resort are situated.
The resort has a comprehensive waste management facility. We’ve set up our own sewage treatment plant, to ensure that resort operations won’t hurt the environment. Treated water is used for watering the grounds and in our toilets; while the sludge from the treatment plant is used as fertilizer for our organic vegetable and herb gardens, and our plant nurseries and greenhouse.
We embarked on a multi-million-peso rehabilitation of our existing water system. To ensure a steady supply of freshwater, rain collection ponds and a desalination plant are underway to reinforce the resort’s freshwater requirements.
These are just some of our initiatives to help promote ecological awareness and pave the way for the peaceful co-existence of man and nature in this last frontier. A part of your package fees is always channeled back to the environment, so you, as our honored guests, can enjoy your stay in good conscience.

The safety and security of our guests is of primary concern. Training is a core element of our people development program. Together with the City Government of Puerto Princesa, the Provincial Government of Palawan, and the Western Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, we help make Honda Bay a secure place for visitors to enjoy.
The resort provides the following safety and security measures:
 • First aid training for all staff
• Nurse on duty at the resort clinic
• Doctor on call from Puerto Princesa City
• 24-hour security on the island and its perimeter
• Electronic marine radar system guarding major approaches to the island
• Emergency training for security guards and staff.

Guests can experience warm, island-style hospitality and service from our friendly resort staff. Aside from keeping the resort running smoothly, our people are always ready to address any concerns with a smile, lend a helping hand, or offer any advice or information needed. Guest officers are on hand to familiarize guests with the many amenities and facilities of the resort, as well as to plan and schedule the guests’ chosen activities for each day. | | | |
