Expect a more pleasurable and relaxing island experience on your next vacation at Dos Palmas Island Resort and Spa. After eight great years, the resort recently undertook extensive upgrades and additions to its existing accommodations and facilities to better serve its discriminating clientele.
Now, guests can more fully experience the flavor of island living at our newly refurbished cottages, with their polished wood floors, thatched roofing made of dried and combed cogon grass, and ethnic accents sourced from local craftsmen. Our toilets and baths have also been redesigned for more artistic functionality.
Our Bay Cottages, with a total of 10 rooms perched on stilts above the clear blue shallows, retain the romantic ambience of its extraordinary location, while providing all the luxurious comforts customers have come to expect. Aside from the Bay Cottages, the existing 38 Garden Cottages have been remodeled, with the former lofts converted into second-floor rooms for a total of 78 spacious Beach Villa rooms. Four more Beach Villa rooms are being upgraded into Deluxe Beach Villas with special amenities such as individual bathtub, cable-ready TV, internet connection, living and dining areas, and a mini-kitchen.
The garden pathways leading to the Beach Villas, previously running in front of the cottages, have been transferred to the back, allowing more privacy at both ground level and second floor front porches, where guests can sit back and enjoy the morning mists and magnificent sunsets over Honda Bay. The relocation also hopes to provide added privacy and protection for hawksbill turtles, which have been observed to nest and lay their eggs on the beach area around the last quarter of each year.
With the expected increase of guests at the resort, Dos Palmas has also upgraded its recreational facilities. One of the first locations to get a new look was the swimming pool area, now enlarged into an infinity pool with Jacuzzi. Other areas, particularly the videoke lounge and KTV rooms, have also been improved.
Dive enthusiasts will be glad to know that Dos Palmas is now an accredited PADI Dive Resort, with a full complement of diving equipment and dive training services. Our professional dive masters adhere strictly to PADI safety regulations, assuring guests of safe diving, expert supervision, assistance and instruction for divers and non-divers who wish to experience the amazing underwater world around Honda Bay.
Need a ballroom for an island wedding reception, or a cozy function room for a family reunion? How about a corporate planning session followed by teambuilding activities on the beach? Dos Palmas recently expanded and renovated its conference and meetings hosting capabilities to cater to both private and corporate functions. Our new 412 sq. m. multi-purpose Function Hall can accommodate up to 350 persons, and can be converted into a ballroom for receptions. There are also three smaller function rooms, which can be resized according to your needs. By September 2007, the island chapel will be ready for that long dreamed of romantic island wedding.
For the ultimate in mind and body relaxation, the resort now has its own spa village – the Paranarian Island Spa. Nestled in a quiet location between gardens and the clear blue sea and open sky, the island spa offers unique, Filipino-inspired massage rituals and body treatments using natural oils and herbal preparations. From whole body massage to foot spas, body wraps, scrubs and facials, the spa’s total relaxation regimen is both soothing and restorative. Spa facilities include a meditation pool, a spa lounge, juice bar and gift shop, steam and sauna rooms, private treatment rooms and an open-air foot spa pavilion.
We at Dos Palmas understand that all this expansion and renovation comes with an added responsibility to preserve the ecological balance of the resort environment. And because Dos Palmas takes its environment seriously, we have also upgraded and enhanced our island support facilities. One of this is the multi-million-peso rehabilitation of our existing water system, including the construction of a desalination plant and rain-collection ponds to ensure a steady supply of fresh water for the resort. Other green initiatives include an ecologically responsible waste management program, a sewage treatment facility, a water conservation program, and a toxic-material reduction plan that includes de-chlorination of water supply and the use of biodegradable, plant-based detergents and cleaning agents.

The Hilot massage relaxes tired muscles with traditional techniques that have been handed down from generation to generation. For a short relaxing interlude, Paranarian offers its Hingut-an head and shoulder massage. This 30-minute treatment eases those tight muscles with the application of aromatic oils. Or try the Siksikian foot spa, an hour-long ritual that begins with a warm foot soak in boiled guava leaves to cleanse and soften the skin of the feet. An exfoliating foot scrub followed by a foot massage with natural oils is guaranteed to revive weary and aching feet.
